Liechtenstein

Vaduz, Liechtenstein. For such a tiny country Liechtenstein sure has a lot of churches. And more than its share of natural beauty, alpine-style. I learned a new phrase when I came here: Liechtenstein is "double-landlocked". That refers to a landlocked country that is entirely surrounded by other landlocked countries. There are only 2 of them in the entire world and this is one. Can you figure out the other? No Googling....
Vaduz, Liechtenstein. More churches. And they're good-looking too!

Vaduz, Liechtenstein. This tiny capital city (pop. 5,500) is so neat and tidy that it takes some getting used to - a benefit of having one of the highest GDP's per capita in the world. Liechtenstein has served as a tax haven and economic powerhouse for decades - there are more registered corporations here than registered citizens! All of the churches, government buildings, and banks in this city look brand new, even though they are mostly quite old. And not a scrap of trash anywhere!

Liechtenstein. The financial success of this country draws in many visitors and would-be residents from all over. In order to keep this place neat and tidy as described above, some bathroom guidance is necessary for the Asian crowd (and more recently, middle easterners). "We don't care how you do it back home!" This is how you're gonna do it here !

Liechtenstein. Home of the Happy Cows.
